Frequently asked questions about osteopathy

Mar 20, 2023 | Blog

The purpose of this article is to solve questions that usually occur in the consultation. How long does a session last?

A session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes, sometimes requiring a little more time for the first visit.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions will depend to a large extent on the chronicity of the situation, the ability of each person’s body to self-regulate, age, etc.
Some people can get results in just one session and others may need several sessions, however in a maximum of 3-4 sessions there should be changes.

Is osteopathy safe?

In consultation I find that there are some people with a certain fear of high-speed techniques. It is important to know that the range of techniques used in osteopathy is very diverse and that even though these techniques are very useful, they are not applied to all patients. Fortunately, we have a very extensive tool kit that can be adapted to each person depending on their morphotype, pathologies, etc.

For this, I consider it advisable that they be carried out by a competent and certified professional who, through the anamnesis and safety tests, is able to detect when to use one technique or another, and when to refer to another professional.

What are the recommendations for after an osteopathy session?

Because after a session we have promoted changes that will lead the body to self-regulate, it is possible that symptoms such as tiredness, aches, relaxation may appear up to 48 hours later.

It is advisable to drink plenty of water, not perform strenuous exercise and rest as much as possible.
